Patrick Sassoon, M.D., M.S., Psychiatrist
Originally from Brazil, Dr. Sassoon moved to the United States around 20 years ago to pursue a Master’s degree in Counseling, and worked as a therapist for several years before he decided to further expand his horizons by becoming a Medical Doctor.

It enables him to offer a more integrated and personalized approach to patient care that promotes meaningful transformative change.
Services
-
Comprehensive Evaluation
An in-depth review of the patient’s medical and family history, laboratory evaluations, social history, and psychological assessment to obtain a comprehensive understanding of their unique make-up and needs. The treatment plan is co-created with the patient, and may include prescribing medication, supplementation, psychotherapy, behavioral change, referrals to other medical specialists or therapists to meet their individual needs.
-
Medication Management
Although some psychiatric conditions can improve with therapy alone, medications can be a powerful and necessary tool in treating various mental health conditions. During the 30 min medication and supplementation management follow ups, Dr. Sassoon reviews with patients how the treatment plan is working and makes any needed adjustments. He also helps them identify psychological factors that may be hindering the their progress and focuses on behavioral change.
-
Psychotherapy
During therapy appointments, Dr. Sassoon uses CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Psychodynamic and Gestalt therapy, Mindfulness training, and primarily Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This therapy approach examines our relationship with our thoughts, and focuses on the acceptance of our internal experiences, alignment with our core values, and commitment to actions towards a more fulfilling life.
